Bone Healing
Bone healing is a process that contributes to the repair of a bone fracture.
Four factors are considered important for the bone healing. These factors have been also analyzed by Prof. Giannoudis Peter (Academic Department of Trauma and Orthopaedics, Leeds Teaching Hospitals, University of Leeds, UK).
Osteogenic cells, osteoconductive scaffolds, growth factors and mechanical support are these 4 factors that each orthopaedic surgeon should take into account in his attempt to create the appropriate environment for fracture healing.
